Dear FlyU Families,

       At FlyU, we believe that education is about much more than test scores. True learning is reflected in continuous growth, strong learning habits, increasing confidence, and the development of essential academic and life skills.


       To help parents better understand and celebrate each child's progress, we are excited to introduce the FlyU Learning Growth System (FLGS) beginning this school year. FLGS is a comprehensive student growth and assessment framework designed to monitor each student's learning journey, provide meaningful feedback, and strengthen the partnership between school and home.

Four core components
From the first week of school to the final report, FLGS documents the full learning journey.
Baseline Assessment

At the beginning of the school year, each student will participate in a baseline assessment to help teachers understand their current academic level and learning profile. The assessment covers Chinese, Mathematics, English, and learning habits.
This is not a graded test and will not affect class placement or academic records. Its purpose is to help our teachers understand each child's starting point so that instruction can be tailored to meet individual learning needs.

Bi-Monthly Progress Report
Learning Portfolio

Every two months (September, November, January, March, and May), families will receive a progress report highlighting each student's development. The report includes:
Each student will have an individual Learning Portfolio that documents their learning journey throughout the year. The portfolio may include:
  ●  Skills and concepts learned during the period
  ● Assessment records
  ●  Classroom performance and participation
  ● Reading progress
  ●  Knowledge and abilities the student has mastered
  ●  Outstanding classwork and writing samples
These reports allow parents to stay informed about their child's progress throughout the year, rather than waiting until the end of the school year.
This portfolio serves as a meaningful collection of each child's growth and accomplishments during their time at FlyU.

Year-End Achievement Report
At the end of the school year, every student will receive a comprehensive achievement report summarizing their academic growth, personal development, and accomplishments throughout the year. The report reflects on each student's progress and includes teacher recommendations to support future learning.
Rather than focusing only on scores, our goal is to help families understand their child's growth.
