Dr. Li is a widely recognized leader and educator with 25 years of combined industry and academic experience. She currently serves as President of Golden Gate College and Chairman of Da Vinci Education Foundation. Previously, she held the positions of President, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), and Chairman of the Board at Sofia University, where she not only rescued the institution from the brink of bankruptcy, but also launched three new academic disciplines in a short period and established a strategic alliance with Tsinghua Zijing Education.
Prior to joining Sofia University, Dr. Li worked as Provost, WASC Accreditation Liaison Officer, Chief Academic Officer, and Founding Head of the Academic Quality Control Committee at Silicon Valley International University of Science and Technology. She led the university to obtain its initial WASC accreditation from scratch. Dr. Li is also the Founding Associate Dean and Professor of the International School of Software at Wuhan University, overseeing the college’s growth from zero enrollment to a student body of several thousand within just four years. Earlier in her career, she served as a faculty member in the Department of Computer Science at Wuhan University.
Throughout her professional career, Dr. Li has held senior roles including Chief Software Architect and Management Director in high-tech enterprises. Starting in 1996, she worked as a Professional Researcher at Sony, later moving to the Strategy Office as Senior Manager and Chief Software Architect. She then joined Motorola, first serving as Chief Architect and subsequently as Engineering Director of the company. Dr. Li holds multiple patents and has published numerous papers in the fields of artificial intelligence, software technology, and the application of machine learning in economics. Additionally, she chaired the International Conference on Object-Oriented Languages and Systems Technology held in the United States in 1998 and 1999, and has served as a reviewer on the committees of various other academic conferences and doctoral dissertation evaluations.
